Our STEM program empowers students to explore, question and innovate through hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Designed to foster curiosity and critical thinking, our program provides rich, real-world experiences tailored to all our students throughout the year.
SEMESTER 1: STEM is offered to all students in Grades 3-6.
Students engage in collaborative, project-based challenges that span core disciplines and align with the curriculum and real-world technologies.
Across Grades 3-6, students explore topics such as:
Forensic Science – investigating chemical reactions, fingerprints and observation skills.
Animals in Our Community – Discovering how native and introduced species interact with their environment. Students explore habitats, food chains and the role of humans in animal conservation.
The Human Body – Investigating the major body systems, how they function and how to maintain health and wellbeing. Includes interactive models, experiments and biological observation.
Each unit encourages experimentation, teamwork and reflection – preparing students not just for high school, but for a world where innovation matters.
SEMESTER 2: STEM is offered to all students in Foundation to Grade 2.
STEM is introduced in the early years through rich, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and foster problem solving.
Our Foundation-Grade 2 program focuses on exploration, discovery and creative thinking. Students are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas and design simple solutions using everyday materials and age-appropriate technologies.
Themes such as seasons, Living Things, Materials and testing their creations through hands-on challenges are explored. In these early years of schooling, STEM is about building confidence, curiosity and building the foundations for lifelong learning.
